What the Retrograde Reviews
Pluto turns retrograde at 5°30′ Aquarius on May 6, 2026 and returns to direct motion at 3°04′ on October 16, using UTC dates. It revisits a small section of a much longer transit, which can bring familiar questions about influence, attachment and control back into focus. A repeated contact is a chance to examine how you respond, not evidence that you have failed to learn a lesson.
Aquarius places the review in the realm of groups, networks and the rules people agree to live by. Notice the exchanges beneath the official explanation: whose approval matters, who can question a decision and what happens when someone wants different terms. Pluto’s symbolism includes exposing hidden investments, including your own. That makes self examination at least as relevant as identifying who else is being difficult.
Retrograde does not mean the outside world stops moving. A private change of perspective can coincide with a very practical renegotiation, and other transits may bring decisions to the surface while this review continues. Give yourself room to understand the pattern without insisting that every feeling become immediate action. Useful questions include what you are protecting, what the protection costs and what would give you more choice.
For timing, check natal planets and angles from 3°04′ to 5°30′ in the aspect signs below. The contacted planet tells you which function is involved, while its house and rulerships connect the theme to concrete areas of life. A Sun contact raises different questions from a Venus or Moon contact. Read the whole chart before turning Pluto’s reputation for intensity into a forecast of a specific crisis.
The rising sign reading gives you the whole sign house story. Check the event degree against your natal planets and angles to see whether it is also making an exact contact in your chart.
Read these as contacts to a natal planet or angle, not a prediction for everyone with that Sun sign. Each aspect is exact at the same numbered degree in the signs listed.

Use the transit’s degree or the eclipse degree given above, then find natal planets and angles near that same degree in the signs listed here. The sign relationship identifies the aspect; the degree tells you how close it is.
A square or opposition can describe tension that needs a response; a sextile or trine can describe cooperation or an opening. Neither is a guaranteed outcome. Read the contacted planet, its house and the rest of the chart.
