Venus moves through Scorpio and back into Libra, bringing two houses into the conversation. These readings use whole-sign houses; if you use Placidus, check where the degrees fall in your own chart. Your exact natal contacts make the timing personal.
These readings use whole sign houses; another house system can place the transit differently.

The Three Passes of a Retrograde
- 01
The First Pass
A preference, attraction or agreement gets your attention. Notice what you want and what you’re willing to offer.
- 02
The Retrograde Pass
Venus retraces her steps. Revisit the terms and see whether they still reflect what matters to you.
- 03
The Final Pass
Venus moves forward again. Bring what you’ve learned into the next conversation, agreement or decision.
What the Retrograde Reviews
Venus brings relationships, pleasure, money and personal taste into the conversation. In Scorpio, look at trust, intimacy and what you share; in Libra, look at reciprocity and the terms of your agreements. Your houses show where those questions land, while contacts to natal planets make the story more specific. An old preference can make a comeback without getting an automatic yes.
The two signs describe different ways Venus approaches the same questions. Scorpio brings attention to attachment, trust and the stakes of sharing; Libra looks at balance, consideration and the terms between people. Following both houses can show how one conversation leads into another. A question about shared money, for example, may reveal an expectation that was never clearly agreed.
You may find yourself reconsidering a preference or noticing that an attractive arrangement asks you to overlook something important, whether that involves a relationship, a purchase or the terms of a creative project. Give the actual exchange more weight than the story you hoped it would tell. A creative project, friendship or spending choice can belong to this review just as much as romance.
The natal contact adds the specific function. Venus contacting Mercury can bring values into a conversation; the Moon adds comfort and belonging; Mars brings desire and assertion. Check the natal planet’s house and rulerships alongside the aspect rather than assuming every Venus transit is about dating. The direct station continues the process, and subsequent returns to the same degrees can provide more information.

Which Signs Make Which Aspects?
Read these as contacts to a natal planet or angle, not a prediction for everyone with that Sun sign. Each aspect is exact at the same numbered degree in the signs listed.
Venus in Scorpio · 0° to 8°29′
- Conjunction
- Scorpio
- Square
- Aquarius and Leo
- Opposition
- Taurus
- Sextile
- Capricorn and Virgo
- Trine
- Pisces and Cancer
Venus in Libra · 22°52′ to 29°59′
- Conjunction
- Libra
- Square
- Capricorn and Cancer
- Opposition
- Aries
- Sextile
- Sagittarius and Leo
- Trine
- Aquarius and Gemini
For example, Venus at 5° Scorpio squares a natal planet at 5° Leo or Aquarius, opposes one at 5° Taurus and conjuncts one at 5° Scorpio. At 25° Libra, she squares 25° Cancer or Capricorn, opposes 25° Aries and conjuncts 25° Libra.
A square or opposition can describe tension that needs a response; a sextile or trine can describe cooperation or an opening. Neither is a guaranteed outcome. Read the contacted planet, its house and the rest of the chart.
