The Myers-Briggs Study

The sixteen Myers-Briggs types are familiar, specific and easy to compare with astrological claims. Participants can report a known type, then answer a short either-or battery so the four scales are measured inside the study too.

Can a birth chart predict a person’s Myers-Briggs type?

Methodology

The four Myers-Briggs axes are evaluated separately, because a chart method may predict one scale and miss another.

01

The Four Scales

Which traditional chart signatures line up with each Myers-Briggs axis? Each scale has an established astrological correspondence that can be tested directly.

Mapped to the chart
  • E or I: chart hemispheres, fire and air versus earth and water
  • S or N: Mercury’s sign and element
  • T or F: air versus water, Mercury and Venus
  • J or P: cardinal and fixed versus mutable, with Saturn
02

Your Type

Participants report their type when known and complete a short set of either-or questions, allowing each scale to be placed independently.

How type is captured
  • A self-reported type, when known
  • A 12-item forced-choice battery
  • Three questions per scale
03

The Real Chart

Does the true birth chart perform better than plausible incorrect charts? This isolates whether correct birth data adds information beyond common patterns and base rates.

The comparisons
  • The participant’s real chart
  • Matched sham charts scored by the same rules
  • A base-rate baseline as a non-astrological control
Why this is measurable: Myers-Briggs is not treated here as a perfect or permanent description of personality. It is useful because its four named scales give astrological predictions a clear target instead of an endlessly adjustable character sketch.
The questionnaire

What You’ll Be Asked

Answer from your life as you remember it, not from what your chart or a previous reading says should be true.

  1. 01

Share your known Myers-Briggs type if you have one.

  2. 02

Answer three questions each about energy, information, decisions and structure.

  3. 03

Add context only when a forced choice misses something important about you.

The findings

Results in Three Phases

The analysis becomes more precise as the sample grows. Every phase keeps the misses.

Phase 1 Now filling

Preliminary

A first look at the signal once 400 charts are in. Early results, wide uncertainty, published openly.

Phase 2

Expanded

The analysis runs again at 2,500 charts, with tighter estimates and checks on what survived Phase 1.

Phase 3

Full

The complete analysis at 5,000 charts, including what worked, what failed and what remains uncertain.

How it stays honest

How We Keep It Honest

Blind first. The chart is calculated and its type predictions are recorded before anyone reads the participant’s answers.

Type is measured, not assumed. Even when participants know their four letters, the same either-or battery places everyone on each scale.

Misses published. The findings include where these proposed signatures fail.
