Relationship Astrology Guides | Live Laugh Zodiac

Relationship astrology either compares two charts or builds a third chart for the pair. These guides cover synastry, composite charts and Davison charts, how to read each one, and why a single aspect never tells the whole story.

The composite placement guides further down take each planet in each house of a composite chart, one at a time.

Comparing Two Charts

What Is Synastry in Astrology, and the Rule Everybody Skips: How two natal charts are compared for attraction, friction, familiarity and the parts of one another that are hardest to ignore.
Capacity for Relationship in a Birth Chart: Before comparing two people, read each person. The seventh house, Venus, the Moon and what someone is equipped to bring into a relationship.
How to Read a Synastry Chart, Starting Before the Second Chart: A working order for reading two charts together, from luminaries and angles down to individual aspects.
Synastry House Overlays, and the Half of the Map Nobody Reads: Where another person's planets land in your houses, which parts of life become emphasized and who experiences the contact most.
The Best and Worst Synastry Aspects, or Saturn Is the Requirement: Which contacts carry the most weight, how astrologers rank them and why one beautiful aspect cannot run the entire relationship.
Progressed Synastry, or the Study Somebody Ran Twice: Natal synastry describes the underlying connection, while progressions help explain why it becomes louder at a particular time.
What Is a Composite Chart in Astrology?: A midpoint chart treated as the relationship's own entity, with its own character, patterns and important limitations.
How to Read a Composite Chart: A guide to reading composite planets, houses and aspects, with context for the Ascendant and opposite houses.
Composite Chart Placements: Explore every planet through all twelve composite houses in 120 placement guides.
Synastry vs. Composite vs. Davison Charts: Three ways to build a relationship chart. What each method measures and where they disagree.
What Is a Davison Chart?: A real chart cast for the midpoint in time and space between two births, so it can be progressed like a natal chart.
How to Read a Davison Chart: Because a Davison is a real moment, it takes transits and progressions the way a natal chart does.
Element Compatibility in Astrology, or Why You Want What You Do Not Have: The four elements are four levels of experience. All six pairings, and why a missing element matters more.
Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable Compatibility, or the Doctrine Nobody Wrote: The three modes are directions of energy, not character. What the tradition says about matching them, which is nothing.
